About me
Ben Leung has been a leader in the Education Technology field for over 24 years. He started in Higher Education but for the last 9 years has worked in K-12 at Spring Independent School District (ISD). At Spring ISD, he is currently the Executive Director - Technology Services.
Spring ISD is a Title I District in North Houston (Texas) with 34,000 students. His team of Field Techs, Tech Shop Techs and Service Desk Techs are responsible for supporting over 80,000 hardware devices in the District.
Ben also leads multiple District wide technology initiative including:Cybersecurity (Chief Information Security Officer)Develop the District’s cybersecurity infrastructure based on NIST standards.Development of cybersecurity policies.Building partnerships with government/non-government organizations including CISA, MS-ISAC, and Texas DIR.Leading cross functional team to ensure the District’s technology is secure.IT Service Management (ITSM)Develop a Formal Governance structure with all 45 schools in the District and Central Office Leadership.Implement Continuous Improvement utilizing KPI and SLA data.Develop Technology Department Policies and Procedures based on ITSM best practices and State of Texas laws (Policy CQ, CQA, CQB, and CQC).
